We are not created to stand still.

A ship is safe in harbour, but that’s not what ships are for.  —John A. Shedd

Ships that are not in harbour, are moving.  They may anchor for a while but eventually, they move. They hit bad weather, enjoy smooth seas, stop to refuel, catch a sunrise or sunset.  They are made to sail.  To move.  To go from one harbour to the next, with a purpose.

Change can be out of our comfort zone at times.  It is much more comfortable to sit still, relax, and enjoy the scenery.  The thing is, we don’t grow that way, and most of us will become restless if we stay in the harbour for too long.

God is much more interested in your character than your comfort. —Rick Warren

We have been made on purpose, with purpose, and for a purpose.

The key to purpose and change is to know your purpose, your why, so you can stay grounded throughout the change.  When you are clear on who you were made to be and what your unique life purpose is, you can navigate the change.  Your purpose does not change but the clarity and confidence that knowing your why gives helps you stay clear on the way.

My life purpose is to inspire, empower, and equip others to take bold steps and live a life of purpose. The clarity of that statement helps me to live my purpose in whatever I am doing. My anchor is my why, not the way. The purpose doesn’t change, but when changes happen in my life, I have clarity and confidence within my life purpose. My choices are anchored in my purpose.

I know I am living my purpose when others can see it by how I live my life.  I can live authentically and embrace vulnerability because I am confident in the purpose I was made for.

Know who you were made to be, and then live that with boldness, clarity and confidence.  No matter what comes your way, you will know your why.
